Sunnova production guarantee credits stopped: what happened and what to ask for

Updated October 19, 2026.

Many Sunnova leases and PPAs came with a production guarantee: if the system made less than a set amount in a year, you got a credit. Since Sunnova's contracts were sold out of bankruptcy in 2025, owners report those credits have stopped.

Why they stopped

The purchase agreement in Sunnova's Chapter 11 case lists Sunnova's production guarantees and its own customer warranties as liabilities the buyer did not take on. The new owner of the contracts, Solaris Assets, with SunStrong Management servicing them, took the agreements but not those promises.

What still matters

More: my production guarantee wasn't met, who is Solaris Assets LLC and the free production check to put a number on the shortfall.

The letter that gets a written answer. I write it for you from your own agreement, bills and production numbers: to the equipment maker if you own the system, or to the company that bills you if it's a lease or a PPA. It puts the facts on the record and asks for a written answer by a date. If no written answer comes within 30 days, the follow-up letter is free.

$99 flat, ready in 3 business days. You read and approve it, then send it yourself.

Have it written for you, $99   or email jon@solarstillworks.com

“After the letter was sent, it was mere days that they got back to me with a much more positive email looking into all our issues causing the total system to be down.”

Tami B., SunStrong customer

What happened next: after her letter, SunStrong answered in writing within days, saying it would put billing and collections on hold, cancel auto-pay and set up a deferment while it looks into the system. See page 1 of her letter.

What this page isn't

It isn't legal advice. Agreements and state rules differ, and your own agreement wins over anything general here. I prepare documents at your direction; you review, sign and send them yourself.
