Freedom Forever
Freedom Forever Chapter 7: what now that the claim deadline has passed
Updated October 19, 2026.
Freedom Forever is in Chapter 7 liquidation (case 26-10522, District of Delaware), and the deadline to file a proof of claim was October 16, 2026. If you filed, you wait on the trustee. If you didn't, a late claim is only allowed in limited circumstances, which is a question for a bankruptcy attorney. Either way, the bankruptcy was never going to fix your roof. Other paper still can.
What still protects you
- The equipment warranties. Freedom Forever installed other companies' panels and inverters, and those makers warrant their own equipment to you, whether or not the installer exists.
- Your loan or lease terms. Those were made by a lender or a leasing company, not by Freedom Forever, and that company is still there and still responsible for what the contract says.
Who is responsible now
You own it (cash or a loan): the panel and inverter makers' warranties are yours and outlive the installer. The lender is a separate company from the repair, and the loan keeps going.
A lease or a PPA: the company that owns the system and bills you is responsible for it under your agreement, even if it took over from the company you signed with.
More: the full Freedom Forever page, my inverter failed and my production guarantee wasn't met.
The letter that gets a written answer. I write it for you from your own agreement, bills and production numbers: to the equipment maker if you own the system, or to the company that bills you if it's a lease or a PPA. It puts the facts on the record and asks for a written answer by a date. If no written answer comes within 30 days, the follow-up letter is free.
$99 flat, ready in 3 business days. You read and approve it, then send it yourself.
Have it written for you, $99 or email jon@solarstillworks.com
“After the letter was sent, it was mere days that they got back to me with a much more positive email looking into all our issues causing the total system to be down.”
Tami B., SunStrong customer
What happened next: after her letter, SunStrong answered in writing within days, saying it would put billing and collections on hold, cancel auto-pay and set up a deferment while it looks into the system. See page 1 of her letter.
What this page isn't
It isn't legal advice. Agreements and state rules differ, and your own agreement wins over anything general here. I prepare documents at your direction; you review, sign and send them yourself.
